Sunday, Dec. 11 After Jack in person! 3 p.m. American Legion Bldg., Tanyard Road, Rocky Mount. $5 per person donation. A new, three-girl band with an awesome sound. They play multiple instruments and perform various types of music on a variety of instruments. Everyone welcome.
   
Saturday, Nov. 19 'Military funeral' for Confederate Prvt. Samuel Jordan Smith (1832-1906). Everyone welcome. 1 p.m. Eames Cemetery, Colonial Turnpike, Rocky Mount. Turn on Sontag Road (Route 619) at traffic light. Travel to Mitchell's Store on the right and make an immediate left turn on Colonial Turnpike. Travel approx. 2 miles to cemetery on the right. Period dress, wreath laying. Sponsored by Jubal Early Chapter United Daughters of Confederacy and the Historical Society.
